Today marks the 62nd birthday of Lauren Grandcolas, who tragically lost her life on September 11. At 38 years old, pregnant with her first child, Lauren was aboard United Airlines Flight 93 when it was hijacked.

Just before the chaos unfolded, she called her husband, leaving a simple,  powerful message: “I love you more than anything; just know that.”

Lauren’s final moments were filled with incredible composure as she called her husband again during the hijacking, calmly assuring him that she was fine, despite the terror around her. Her strength and love in those moments continue to inspire.

We remember Lauren not just for the tragic end to her life, but for the courage, love, and resilience she showed in the face of unimaginable horror.  Her legacy lives on, reminding us of the power of love and the human spirit.
