A woman with Down syndrome

People once told Carla, a woman with Down syndrome, that she could never be a mother. But when her baby Lena was born — and everyone doubted her — Carla simply said,
“I’ll raise her on my own.”

Her partner left. She had no car, no degree — only love, patience, and determination. She fed her baby through sleepless nights, sang lullabies, read bedtime stories, and saved every penny to buy little science kits to feed Lena’s curiosity.
Years passed. Lena grew up winning science fairs, studying hard, and eventually earning a degree in aerospace engineering.

Today, she works at NASA, carrying her mother’s courage into the stars.
Because behind every great dreamer, there’s someone who first believed — and for Lena, that hero was her mom.
